 This painting has such a deep meaning and it is so moving. Our artist is also a teacher and these are his students. It represents a very special moment when these girls graduate into grade 4 marking a big stage in their school system as they are now ‘seniors’ in the school. They receive a red ribbon to be put on the uniform vs. the junior blue one. You can see them smiling with pride and happiness as they pursue their dreams. This painting captures for us the mission of giving every girl a chance at education. This painting shows us how with one opportunity we can fuel dreams and change a life. These girls are proud of making it to the next grade. They want to study and work hard to pursue their dreams. School and the chance to study is not a burden but an opportunity. This moment of moving to the next grade is a joy. We have personally travelled to many countries where children walk for hours just to come to school and in many cases, the first ones to drop out of the school system are girls. We all have a responsibility to create an environment where girls feel supported to pursue education, especially in future skills like science, engineering, technology, arts, and math.
